TOWIE stars spark outrage by flouting social distancing

TOWIE’s Courtney Green and many of her co-stars sparked outrage by flouting social distancing rules at her 25th birthday bash on Monday evening.

In a series of brazen Instagram videos shared during the party, guests including Yazmin Oukhellou, Chloe Meadows, Chloe Lewis and Amber Turner displayed their blatant disregard for the rules surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.

After Chloe L, 29, shared a picture from the party, a follower queried why she was not acknowledging the rules, to which she responded: ‘not a party & we have had tests done. So we are safe ‘, while Courtney shared a post mocking the 2 metre rule.

Not sure what 2 metres is? TOWIE’s Courtney Green (pictured kissing Yazmin Oukhellou) and many of her co-stars sparked outrage by flouting social distancing rules at her 25th birthday bash on Monday evening.

Courtney and her parents hosted a party at their Essex home, with a series of lavish additions including a full karaoke set-up, an ice-cream van and masses of booze.

In true TOWIE style, the party was documented in forensic detail on social media with guests sharing videos throughout the evening.

Just some of the unlawful acts in the video saw Yazmin and birthday girl Courtney sharing a kiss, guests sharing microphones and close cuddles.

Adding further insult to injury to those abiding by the rules, Courtney posed for a picture with a guest with both their hands extended and the joke caption: ‘Are we 2 metres apart’, in a nod to rules insisting people keep a distance of 2 metres.

Is it that funny? Adding further insult to injury to those abiding by the rules, Courtney posed for a picture with a guest with both their hands extended and the joke caption: 'Are we 2 metres apart?'

The various posts exposed the stars for their blatant disregard for rules surrounding the government-enforced lockdown, which until Saturday insists you may not enter another household unless the residence is within your ‘bubble’.

As of Saturday, the rules state: ‘You can meet in groups of up to two households (your support bubble counts as one household) in any location – public or private, indoors or outdoors… You do not always have to meet with the same household – you can meet with different households at different times…

‘However, it remains the case – even inside someone’s home – that you should socially distance from anyone not in your household or bubble. This change also does not affect the support you receive from your carers’.

That's a very big support bubble: Courtney and her parents hosted a party at their Essex home, with a series of lavish additions including a full karaoke set-up, an ice-cream van and masses of booze

On Monday – when the party took place – nobody is allowed within a house, however Chloe L insisted they were exempt from the rules as they had ‘tests done’ – despite this claim having nothing to do with the government guidelines.

Her message was in response to a a critic sharing a message under her picture reading: ‘Love this, but honestly does anyone not follow the 2m rule!? I’ve seen so many people from TV having parties with their mates!’

Chloe’s response seemed to rile followers as they responded: ‘Rules still apply dont they? Even with having tests? Anyone of you could have caught it since having tests? Rules are rules…. government tests are available for anyone showing symptoms…

You only get one shot: The girls did not seem too fazed by the tragedies around the globe which led to the rules being put in place

‘Using government tests to try and ‘prove’ you’re safe to indulge in a socially undistanced gathering would be a misuse of resources…

‘Chloe may well have bought her own test though in which case we’re still back to the point that a negative result does NOT guarantee you’re not a carrier and risk to others…

‘What a let down to the NHS staff and others in the country who are trying their best to squash this virus… And this right here is how the 2nd wave will happen, and how long ago was you all tested.’

Other celebrities including Lauren Goodger and Stephen Bear have come under fire for their inability to follow the guidelines enforced by the government.
