The Sunday Footy Show host Tony Jones is grilled over his awkward attempt to kiss Rebecca Judd… after he threatened to ‘walk off set’ if Channel Nine replayed the footage
Channel Nine sports presenter Tony Jones has been mocked for years over the time he tried to kiss weather presenter Rebecca Judd on live television in 2016.
And on Sunday, the 58-year-old journalist was grilled by his Footy Show co-hosts yet again over the awkward incident.
During Sunday’s episode of the talk show, footballer Dayne Zorko questioned young Brisbane Lion player Tom Joyce about why he didn’t want to be nicknamed TJ, which are also Tony’s initials.

‘I’m just wondering why you don’t like the nickname TJ,’ Dayne asked the footballer.
‘I don’t like Tony Jones, Sunday Footy Show host. He’s brought this great nickname into disrepute, he is a tight a**, he’s been creepy with Elle Macpherson and who can forget that kiss with Bec Judd,’ Tom explained.
The show’s co-hosts went on to mention the awkward moment actress Lena Dunham tried to kiss Brad Pitt on the red carpet.
They then also played an illustrated version of Tony placing his arms around Rebecca while trying to kiss her.

‘It might seem like we’re picking on you today but that’s why we love you. We have made you the hero you are outside the news. We’ve made you more popular,’ Nathan Brown told him.
This comes after Tony vowed to ‘walk off set’ if Network Nine ever tried to broadcast the footage again.
Speaking to 3AW’s Neil Mitchell last month, he said: ‘Neil, can I put this on the public record, your show is the most listened-to radio show in Melbourne right, but I will say, if I see that played one more time at Channel Nine I will walk off the set. I do not want to see that kiss again.’
‘Please find a reason to play it tonight and see if he walks off,’ he said.

The incident with Rebecca happened on Nine News Melbourne in August 2016, as Tony attempted to give her a peck on the cheek before she went on maternity leave.
‘Good luck, Bec!’ he said, before leaning in. At that moment, the WAG instinctively pulled away and yelped, before bursting into fits of giggles.
Realising he had just been rejected on camera, Tony crossed his arms and grumbled, ‘OK, good, this is going well,’ as his face turned red.
