Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews both made references to their fast exits from Dancing With the Stars via Twitter Wednesday, which came after Tyra Banks was announced as the host of the ABC ballroom competition.

Bergeron, 65, wrote, ‘I guess I won’t be getting back my monogrammed towels,’ to which Andrews, 42, replied, ‘You got towels @Tom_Bergeron ??.’

He added, ‘I’m sorry this is how you had to find out #TerryCloth.’

The lighthearted exchange came after ABC announced that Tyra Banks was going to replace both as the lone host of the show as well as an executive producer.

‘I am excited about hosting and executive producing – getting in there, live TV, you never know what happens on live TV,’ Banks said in an appearance on Good Morning America Wednesday.

In a previous statement, Banks lauded Bergeron, saying that ‘Tom has set a powerful stage, and I’m excited to continue the legacy and put on my executive producer and hosting hats.’

Bergeron, who had been with the program since its debut in the summer of 2005, also posted a shot of himself in the show’s early days with one-time co-host Lisa Canning.

He said: ‘From Season One. Despite my expression, I was completely sober Rolling on the floor laughing.’

He previously took to the social media site Monday to reveal he would no longer be appearing on the show.

‘Just informed @DancingABC will be continuing without me,’ he tweeted. ‘It’s been an incredible 15 year run and the most unexpected gift of my career. I’m grateful for that and for the lifelong friendships made.’

Andrews, who had co-hosted the program with Bergeron since 2014, lauded her longtime coworker for his supportive presence in their time working together.

‘Those years wouldn’t have been as special without my loving host Tom Bergeron, the talented dancers, and witty judges,’ Andrews said. ‘I will always cherish my time on that set, even if I wasn’t the best at walking in heels.’

She also hosted her own talk show on The CW titled The Tyra Banks Show, which she won multiple Daytime Emmy awards for. She also hosted America’s Got Talent during its 12th season in 2017.
