Today show newsreader Tracy Vo breaks down in tears during a segment about autistic children learning to surf – as she reveals why the story is so close to her heart

Today newsreader Tracy Vo broke down in tears during a segment about autism charity Ocean Heroes on Tuesday.

The 36-year-old journalist became emotional as she described how a group of surfers were helping autistic children learn to surf.

‘The effects they have on the kids and the families as they don’t have these activities they can go to,’ Tracy said, wiping away tears.

‘I am just so proud to be part of the Ocean Heroes. But the whole goal is for them to do it nationally,’ she added.
