Timothee Chalamet set to reunite with Call Me By Your Name director Luca Guadagnino for Bones & All

Timothée Chalamet has become a household name since his breakout role in 2017’s Call Me By Your Name.

And the Academy Award nominee is preparing to return to his roots with his next project.

He’s set to reunite with CMBYN director Luca Guadagnino (but not his controversial costar Armie Hammer) for the upcoming horror/love story Bones & All, featuring a script from Dave Kajganich.

The 25-year-old is in talks for one of the two romantic leads, along with Escape Room star Taylor Russell, 26.

It would mark a reunion for Chalamet and Guadagnino, who directed him and Hammer, 34, in the Oscar-winning 2017 CMBYN, based on the 2007 novel of the same name by André Aciman.

Set in the ’80s, the critically-acclaimed film followed the life-changing summer fling between 17-year-old Elio (Chalamet) and 24-year-old grad student Oliver (Hammer), who’s staying with his family in Italy while apprenticing Elio’s father.

There’s been steady talk of a sequel since the movie was released, as Guadagnino has expressed interest in setting and filming each installment years apart, as Richard Linklater did with his Before trilogy.

Still hopeful: Hammer and Chalamet have both discussed returning for a second film, as the former told Pride.com in October: 'I hope it all happens. I haven't seen the script yet. But, you know, we'll see. Hopefully, we all get to do it. It'd be great if we could'

He’s also mentioned the possibility of casting Dakota Johnson (whom he directed in 2015’s A Bigger Splash and 2018’s Suspira remake) as Oliver’s wife in a potential sequel.

His future in Hollywood doesn’t appear too bright, as he dropped out this week from the Paramount Plus drama series The Offer, in which he was set to star as producer Al Ruddy in the behind-the-scenes story of the 1972 motion picture juggernaut The Godfather.

It comes just weeks after he exited his leading man role, opposite Jennifer Lopez, in the romantic comedy Shotgun Wedding.

The Social Network actor has faced backlash over some recent unverified Instagram direct messages, which he supposedly wrote, were leaked online.

The messages described some alarming sexual fantasies, including cannibalism: ‘I am 100% a cannibal. I want to eat you. F***. That’s scary to admit. I’ve never admitted that before.’

Hammer subsequently wrote in a statement to People: ‘I’m not responding to these bulls*** claims but in light of the vicious and spurious online attacks against me, I cannot in good conscience now leave my children for 4 months to shoot a film in the Dominican Republic. Lionsgate is supporting me in this and I’m grateful to them for that.’

The Sorry to Bother You actor previously announced his split from wife of 10 years Elizabeth Chambers, 38, on Instagram in July, writing: ‘Thirteen years as best friends, soulmates, partners and then parents.

‘It has been an incredible journey, but together, we’ve decided to turn the page and move on from our marriage.’

Hammer and Chambers tied the knot in May of 2010, and they share daughter Harper Grace, six, and son Ford Armand, four.
