This Morning app is downloaded by more than 2 MILLION parents struggling with homeschooling after proving a hit with Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield fans

The This Morning app has been downloaded by over 2 million parents thanks to its new tool for those struggling with homeschooling.

Those homeschooling their children through the current third UK lockdown have turned to the app launched by the Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield-fronted show.

The tool – part of This Morning’s Homeschooling Club, which also has a Facebook page – provides parents with a support system during the trying days of school closures.

The website says of the initiative: ‘Welcome to our Homeschooling Club, This Morning’s support group for desperate homeschooling parents everywhere!

‘But you won’t find maths, English and science here, no this is a club with the simple aim of making your current situation just a little bit easier – because let’s face it, it can’t get much worse!

‘We’ve got you covered – from easy lunches to help you get through the week to how to organise and add structure to the day, or perhaps you just need a little ‘me time’ – don’t worry, we’ve got tips on how to relax too!’

The show’s editor Martin Frizell said: ‘It’s important to listen to your audience and recognise their needs. It was clear people wanted to see some brighter and happier scenes on screen but also with their daily habits at home changing during lockdown.

‘We realised items about cooking, health and home interiors needed to increase too and I’m delighted to add some new and well-known talent to our This Morning family roster of experts.’

There is also a Star of the Week feature, in which parents can nominate their child.

‘Maybe your preschooler has learnt to write their name or perhaps your child has wowed you in the kitchen or created a crafting masterpiece!’ the website continues.

‘Choose the Star of the Week dropdown option, upload a photo of your child and their work and let us know in less than 100 words why your child deserves to be our Star of the Week.’
