The response came after fellow judge Guy thanked Kelly for passing up the chance to work with Luke.

‘Yes Luke Biscan – welcome to #TeamGuy. Thrilled to have you on my team… Huge thank you to Kelly Rowland for this gift,’ Guy wrote.

Kelly caused confusion during the show after she initially turned her chair for Luke, before changing her mind about wanting him on her team.

The awkward moment sent social media into meltdown, with fans asking if her change of mind was allowed and calling the move the ‘weirdest thing they’ve ever seen on the show’.

After singing Resolution by Matt Corby, both Kelly and Guy Sebastian turned their chairs for Luke, indicating that they wanted him on their teams.

Guy made his pitch for the singer first, saying: ‘You really moved me. I love voices that move people. I’m attracted to your gift and I want to see it grow.’

But then Kelly revealed she’d completely changed her mind about turning her chair.

‘Sometimes we get excited as coaches. You’ll immediately hit the button and as you’re sitting there and you start to talk to these artists, you’re like, “I don’t know if this fits. I don’t know if it’s gonna fit,”‘ she said.

A very honest Kelly continued: ‘And I want you to be with a coach that you fit in well with. I don’t wanna force it, it’s wrong.’

Her change of heart left viewers at home furious.

‘Damn Kelly that was kinda brutal,’ tweeted one viewer.

‘Wait did she just withdraw her chair turn??’ questioned a second person.

‘Turn around then be like sorry don’t want you. Weirdest thing I’ve seen on this show yet,’ wrote a third fan.

‘Wait what? Since when does that happen? Haven’t seen that before. Kelly gave up the contestant?’ added another person.

The Voice continues on Sunday night at 7:00pm on Channel Nine
