Chris also told the publication that before appearing on the The Voice this year he was ready to give up on his dreams as a solo artist.

Back in May, The Voice viewers were left shocked and surprised Chris auditioned for The Voice, but ended up on Kelly Rowland’s team.

Speaking to Nova’s Fitzy and Wippa show, Guy revealed that he and Chris made the decision together before filming so they wouldn’t damage their ‘close relationship’.

‘We are very very close and I’ve always kept stuff separate with work and that type of thing. I would hate for any of that to get in the way of our relationship,’ he told hosts Ryan Fitzgerald and Michael Wipfli.

Guy did admit that he’d promised his younger brother that he wouldn’t leave him in the lurch if none of the other judges wanted him on their teams.

‘We knew early on he would go with someone else, I said ‘if no one turns Chris which is quite an unlikely scenario then I’ll turn for you’,’ he said.

The Voice Australia’s grand finale airs on Sunday at 7pm on Nine.
