Darren McMullen is set to return to The Voice Australia this year as a co-host alongside Renee Bargh.

And the 38-year-old revealed this week that he once had a secret feud with former coach Seal, 57, during his earlier stint on the show.

Speaking to News.com.au, Darren recalled how he’d ‘p**sed off’ the British singer by telling him to ‘shut up’.

The two men had a blow-up on live TV after Darren stepped in why Seal began to read out a letter from a former contestant.

‘He said, ”Darren, I just wonder if I could read out this lovely letter I received this year from blah blah blah,” Darren said.

Darren said he told Seal to just post the letter on his Instagram rather then read it out loud, which didn’t go down well with the singer.

‘He was p**sed at me,’ Darren said.

He added: ‘I don’t think anyone had ever told Seal to shut up before. It was quite funny.’

Not mincing his words, Darren also said that Seal ‘loved to preach’ on set and they just didn’t have time for it.

He said he once cut Seal off live on air, when he tried to rehash a story about working with Olivia Newton-John.

In May last year meanwhile, Australian singer Guy confirmed his bizarre feud with Boy George.

Guy said that he was feuding with Boy George over who got to wear a fedora on camera.

Speaking to The Kyle and Jackie O Show at the time, Guy revealed it was made it clear to him that Boy George would be the only ‘hat guy’ on the show.

Guy explained he was told by Boy George’s assistant that he could not wear a hat on camera because that is the Culture Club star’s signature accessory.

The Voice Australia returns on Sunday at 7pm on Channel Nine.
