The Talk’s Sheryl Underwood keeps it positive during quarantine while loving her new ‘commute’

The Talk’s Sheryl Underwood is doing her best to keep upbeat during quarantine in Los Angeles while her hit daytime talk show pivots to an at-home model.

In an exclusive interview with DailMailTV, the 56-year-old joked about not actually missing co-hosts Sharon Osbourne, Eve, Marie Osmond and Carrie Ann Inaba because they’re constantly in touch these days.

And, Sheryl has found a silver-lining to all this isolation in the form of her new ‘commute’ to the office, or lack there of.

‘The best thing about working from home is the commute,’ she laughed. ‘The commute is amazing! I commute from the bathroom to the desktop…amazing!’

In March, The Talk was forced to suspend production in-studio due to the coronavirus and after a brief stint doing interviews on Instagram Live, the show returned to the airwaves.  

All of the hosts are now back together (sort of) to host new episodes from their respective homes using Zoom technology for the re-vamped The Talk@Home.

She continued: ‘It’s stressful, it’s uncertain right now, but we want people to know we’re all in this together with you.’  

Sheryl said she felt honored to be working in a business that was able to do some good during such a troubling time and she applauded those workers who are still going out everyday to work on the front lines. 

Injecting her signature brand of humor into the moment, Underwood lightened the mood by then explaining that adjusting to her new-normal has been a challenge when it came to losing her glam squad.

‘I’d like to shoutout Dale McDonald, the best makeup man in the business,’ she joked. ‘Now you see why he has two Daytime Emmys for makeup and I have none.’ 

‘I’m doing my own makeup,’ Sheryl added. ‘I’m doing my own hair and thank god for synthetic wigs that have styled themselves.’

When DailyMailTV spoke with Carrie Ann, Sharon and Eve, all three ladies said they were missing their fellow hosts and couldn’t wait to see them again. Sheryl, on the other hand, isn’t in the same boat.   

‘Honest to god, I don’t miss them b***hes,’ the comedian quipped with a cackle.

Sheryl explained that she and the girls are talking every single day and since they produce all now shows of The Talk@Home five days a week, they’re also in constant communication with producers and the behind-the-scenes team. 

‘We’re all a family at The Talk’ she said. ‘Everybody is interchanging with each other and keeping everybody’s spirits up. From the producers to the network executives, to [the] everyday hosts, to everybody that’s involved in this.’

She added, truthfully: ‘But really, honest to god, I do love and miss them skinny b***hes.’
