The Talk stars announce that they will host the Daytime Emmys virtually: ‘It will be a lot of fun!’
Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood, Eve, Carrie Ann Inaba and Marie Osmond will host the Daytime Emmy Awards on June 26.
The ladies of CBS’ hit talk show, The Talk, announced the news during Thursday’s episode with Carrie Ann stating: ‘Big news! We are thrilled to announce that we are going to be hosting the 47th annual Daytime Emmy Awards!’
Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the two-hour awards ceremony is set to take place remotely with recipients and other special guests appearing from home via video link.

‘I feel like we’re throwing a virtual cookout with all our fans and colleagues in daytime across all networks, all platforms,’ Underwood said, as the other women nodded in agreement.
She added: ‘We just happen to be throwing the cookout this time, so everybody come kick it with us over at CBS. I think it will be a lot of fun.’
This year marks the first time the Daytime Emmys have been televised since 2011, and will be shown on CBS.

The awards were originally scheduled to take place between June 12 and 14, but were postponed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Following the star-studded ceremony later this month, additional categories will be announced online, and others will be presented in a separate ceremony in July.
ABC’s General Hospital, CBS and Amazon Prime Video top all networks in nominations.

The Talk stars are nominated for Entertainment Talk Show and Entertainment Talk Show Host.
The program has previously took home the award for Entertainment Talk Show category in 2016 and 2018.
The Daytime Emmy Awards will air Friday, June 26 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
