The Project’s Carrie Bickmore tries to persuade her co-hosts to look at her unkempt toenails

‘Waist down, I’ve given up’: The Project’s Carrie Bickmore reveals she’s relaxed her personal maintenance in lockdown… as she tries to persuade her disgusted co-hosts to look at her unkempt toenails

Carrie Bickmore has admitted her personal maintenance has taken a hit during lockdown.

Speaking on The Project on Tuesday, the 39-year-old TV presenter confessed she has ‘given up’ on trying to maintain her appearance.

‘Waist down I’ve given up. Totally… Look at my toenails!’ she told her disgusted co-hosts, Peter Helliar and Waleed Aly, before waving a bare foot in front of them.

As Carrie extended her leg towards Waleed, the academic recoiled in horror, moving closer towards Pete, 44.

‘I’m scared to look, Pete, should I?’ the 41-year-old asked his equally offended colleague, who responded, ‘I’m not looking!’

The conversation turned to Carrie’s feet during a discussion with guest panelist, TV presenter Georgie Tunny.

Like Carrie, Georgie confessed that she too had let her personal maintenance slip while in lockdown because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Georgie thanked the show for avoiding ‘extreme close-ups’ of her.

‘These eyebrows, they are sisters, they are not twins,’ she explained, before admitting she’d had big plans for lockdown.

‘I was going to do so much in lockdown, I was going to learn how to cook and become a marathon runner. I’ve done none of that, I’ve been a serial plant killer.’

Georgie, who is in a long-term relationship with Australian performer Rob Mills, said they’d been hoarding house plants during the pandemic.

‘We didn’t hoard toilet paper, we hoarded all of the house plants in Victoria, and I think that only one may survive and I’m talking, I’ve killed succulents!’ she added.
