The Project slams Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after they agree to a tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey… despite quitting the royal family after claiming they wanted privacy

The Project criticised Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on Tuesday after it emerged that they plan to do a 90-minute sit-down interview with Oprah Winfrey.

The show’s panelists slammed the couple after they stepped back from the royal family in March last year, claiming they wanted a more private life.

Panelist Carrie Bickmore revealed that Meghan, 39, would be doing most of the talking, but said ‘Harry’s expected to chime in at the end’.

Her comment prompted Waleed Aly to jokingly ask if Harry, 36, was going to be doing a ‘musical number’, while Steve Price quipped: ‘It will be a long 90 minutes.’

Meanwhile, Tommy Little claimed that Oprah, 67, was scraping the bottom of the barrel with the upcoming interview.

‘You know your career is on the rocks when people who are trying to hide from the public go on your show!’ the 35-year-old comedian said.

Carrie, 40, added that Meghan had been ‘getting a lot of heat’ after news of the interview emerged.

‘They fled the UK because they want privacy and now they want a tell-all. Can you say I still want to share parts of our life with the media?’ she questioned.

Their comments came just a day after fellow panelist Lisa Wilkinson made a joke about what the couple would name their baby.

Harry and Meghan announced they are expecting their second child on Valentine’s Day, sharing a black-and-white pregnancy photo.

‘That pregnancy has obviously happened very, very quickly. What do you think the chances are of that kid being called Andrew?’ asked Lisa, 61.

Her shock joke was seemingly referring to Queen Elizabeth’s son Prince Andrew, who in recent years has faced a number of allegations about sexual assault.
