‘We were constantly getting told off’: Jack Vidgen (pictured) has claimed the 2020 I’m A Celebrity stars – which included four professional singers – ‘weren’t allowed to sing any commercial songs’ in camp. But they did so anyway and had the scenes cut

The Voice star told News.com.au the campmates ‘weren’t allowed to sing any commercial songs’ – despite having four professional singers in the cast.

‘But we all were anyway… We were constantly getting told over the speakers [by producers], “Celebrities, don’t sing! Make up your own songs if you have to,”‘ he said.

These scenes were never aired on TV because it would have required producers spending extra money to buy the rights.

The ban on singing commercial music is due to copyright issues.

The celebrities reached a compromise by making up their own songs or by singing songs that are in the public domain, such as Amazing Grace.
