Aston Merrygold was revealed as Robin on Saturday’s episode of The Masked Singer UK final.

Prior to the unveiling, judges Jonathan Ross, Mo Gilligan, Davina McCall and Rita Ora all guessed who the contestant could be.

Yay! Aston Merrygold was revealed as Robin on Saturday’s episode of The Masked Singer UK final

The foursome were joined by 2020 winner, Nicola Roberts, on the panel with the latter and Rita correctly guessing Aston as Robin.

While Jonathan wrongly predicted Alexandra Burke, Davina guessed Nicky Byrne and Mo questioned whether Olly Murs was under the mask.

Talking after his unmasking, Aston revealed that his JLS bandmates Marvin Humes, Oritsé Williams and JB Gill had no idea he was doing the show.

Waving to the camera, the singer joked: ‘So hi guys!’, he also added that he has ‘loved’ the ‘brilliant’ competition.

Prior to his unmasking, Aston sung For Once In My Life by Stevie Wonder while he also teased that his name ‘fits like a glove’, in a nod at Marigold yellow rubber gloves.

Speaking after his identity was revealed, Aston said on why he decided to do the singing competition: ‘I love singing! So what better challenge than to be able to do it behind a mask and it be all about the voice.’

He added about keeping the show a secret: ‘Not as hard as I first thought! It’s actually been quite exciting knowing and my friends and family had no idea.’

Aston also revealed that he ‘loved’ his outfit, he said: ‘I loved my outfit and character.

‘As soon as your mask goes on something takes over and that’s it you’re a whole different… I was about to say person but, yeah, you’re the furthest thing from being a person on this show!’

Joking about the judges and their guesses over Robin’s identity, Aston quipped: ‘Some of their guesses were very flattering and some I was very confused at! The panel are a great bunch and they bring great energy.’
