Justin Hawkins was rushed to hospital after a freak chemical accident caused his shorts to melt on to his skin.
The Darkness frontman, 45, had been attempting to fix the swimming pool at his house in Switzerland at the time of the mishap.
He told The Sun: ‘There was a problem with the pool, a pump thing and some chemicals came out of it.

‘I think it was a PH negative chemical to control the acidity of the pool.
‘I was trying to fix it and I touched my legs and my shorts melted onto my legs, so then I had to go to hospital.’
It is thought that Justin, who moved to Switzerland five years ago, has not suffered any serious long-term effects.
In America, between 2015 and 2017, pool chemical injuries led to more than 13,500 emergency department visits, according to statistics from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
The incident comes after Justin was revealed as a contestant on ITV’s hit show The Masked Singer earlier this year.
