Channel Seven’s talk show The Daily Edition has been axed after seven years on air. 

And host Sally Obermeder put on a brave face while going in to the office on a Saturday to do stocktake for the show.  

The 46-year-old was ‘touched’ to discover the production team had left a sweet balloon sign and a few small gifts waiting for her in the morning. 

 So cute! The Daily Edition Sally Obermeder (pictured) revealed the sweet gifts the production team left for her on the set of the axed show in an Instagram Stories post shared Sunday 

‘Look how cute is the team, look at this,’ Sally said on Instagram Stories. 

She continued: ‘I came in this morning even though its Saturday because its stocktake day.

‘We had long planned to have part one stocktake, and part two on June 30 on Tuesday. I came in and there was this big sign. Big hoo-ha, beautiful gifts, so touched, very nice.’

Last Friday, Channel Seven announced The Daily Edition had been axed after seven years on air. 

The following week, Sally broke down in tears as she presented the final episode of the show. 

The journalist was very emotional as she thanked viewers for their support over the years.

There was no mention of her co-host Ryan Phelan, who was axed on Monday following domestic violence allegations.

She said tearfully: ‘I cannot talk about the team without crying. You guys have been the heart and the soul of this show. And to you our viewers, thank you again from all of us at The Daily Edition’.
