The Crown cast dance to Lizzo’s hit Good As Hell in full costume as Gillian Anderson reveals the video was ‘never meant to see the light of day’

A video has emerged of the cast of The Crown dancing to Lizzo’s hit Good As Hell in full costume, in-between filming Lord Mountbatten’s funeral scene in series four.

The hilarious clip was played as Gillian Anderson, who portrays Margaret Thatcher in the Netflix show, was interviewed by Seth Myers on Late Night on Wednesday.

Gillian, 52, revealed it was ‘never meant to see the light of day’ and the cast had learnt the choreography after Olivia Colman, 46, asked them to and shared it to her Instagram months later.

Seth asked Gillian: ‘This was before the pandemic, this was when you guys were shooting a funeral scene and when the cameras weren’t rolling the cell phones were in and you were doing a dance choreographed to Lizzo. How did this come about?’

To which Gillian replied: ‘Well Olivia apparently does a dance class in the area she lives with friends on a regular basis.

‘And the last time she did that class she danced to that Lizzo song and she asked if we would happen to be interested in maybe doing it and she would video and she would only share it with her friends, the other dancers.

Seth then aired the video which showed Gillian and Olivia, who plays Queen Elizabeth, taking centre stage with the pair managing to keep their hats on as they danced to the lyrics: ‘I do my hair toss’.

While Seth said ‘you guys are really good’, Gillian replied: ‘it was so humiliating, the look on my face – such delight and shame all at once’.

Olivia had originally shared the clip on her Instagram and captioned it with the lyrics: ‘Check my nails Baby how you feelin’? Feeling good as hell’.

It comes after it was reported that Bridgerton and The Crown are ‘competing’ for the same stately homes to film their next seasons in.

The two Netflix hits have both seen huge success and have already used the same locations, including Somerley Estate in Hampshire and Wilton House in Wiltshire.

However a source has now told The Sun that scheduling for the upcoming seasons of the series’ could be tight with them both wanting to shoot at the same places.

They said: ‘Given these two feature similar backdrops, it was only time before they ended up treading on the other’s toes.

‘But Netflix will be keen everything is sorted as the last thing anyone needs are more delays.’

‘There are only so many stately homes that work for filming. It’s a real headache.’

The source added that it will be the shows’ production companies call when the cast are called in to film and to decide the scheduling.

MailOnline has contacted a representative for Netflix to ask for a comment.
