The Block’s Shelley Craft finishes work on her Byron Bay property… just nine weeks after undertaking renovations on the beach shack
Shelley Craft seems to have taken a few pointers from The Block when it came to the renovation of her Byron Bay home.
According to a report by 9Now on Tuesday, the 44-year-old Block host recently completed renovations on the beach shack, just nine weeks after beginning work.
Shelley renovated the home with her husband of 11 years, real estate agent Christian Sergiacomi, after falling in love with the property.

The unmissable blue home was described as ‘tired’, before Shelley and Christian decided to give the 1950s property a makeover.
‘I had driven past this little blue home for years and always dreamt about how much fun it would be to take an old surf shack and bring it back to life,’ Shelley told 9Now.
‘So when it came up for sale I knew I would have to jump on it quickly as everyone in town knew the little blue house.’

And Shelley said she was excited to play with bright colours, calling it ‘liberating’.
‘We seem to cry away from colour here in Australia – so to be bold and just go for it was liberating!’ she added.
‘The colour is Diorite and to be honest – it was Christian’s pick. He has a brilliant eye for colour and I was still playing it a bit safe with my choices in a more toned down colour.

‘But hey – if you are going to paint your house a colour… just go for it and I’m so glad we did.’
To create her dream property, Shelley said she made mood boards as a source of inspiration for the renovations.
She said they ‘gutted’ the bathrooms and opted for brushed copper accents, but left the original plumbing ‘to save time and money’.

Instead of carpeting, the couple chose timber floorboards throughout the home, and a kitchen island doubles as a space for Shelley and her family, including daughters Milla, nine, and Eadie, eight, to sit and interact.
The home now features an open living space, perfectly capturing the laidback coastal lifestyle.
‘We took advantage of the fact all the walls were out to add a giant sliding door and deck off the back of the home instead of the two small windows that were there originally,’ she said.
