The Block’s Luke and Jasmin insist they didn’t ‘copy’ Daniel and Jade’s curved island bench

Allegations of cheating continued to follow Luke and Jasmin during Monday’s episode of The Block.

After being accused of copying Daniel and Jade’s curved island bench design, it was revealed that Luke and Jasmin had actually turned to Pinterest for inspiration.

But Jade, 34, was initially convinced that Luke and Jasmin had ripped off her and Daniel’s design for a curved island bench in their kitchen.

‘We don’t draw inspiration from anywhere, we draw it from ourself… Good luck to ’em,’ Jade said, taking an obvious swipe at Luke, 35, and Jasmin.

Jade’s accusations left Jasmin, 36, seething, but Jade later claimed it had all been ‘blown out of proportion’.

‘The fact that we copied them is absolute garbage, and I got really defensive, because we definitely didn’t. At all,’ insisted Jasmin.

Jasmin maintained there was no room for last minute changes, with the teams having to submit their designs early on in the competition.

While both Jade and Jasmin may have agreed that ‘curves are in’, host Scott Cam revealed that Jasmin’s curved bench wasn’t entirely original.

‘For the record, Jasmin definitely didn’t get her inspiration from Daniel and Jade. It looks like it may have come from Pinterest,’ the 57-year-old explained.

Comparison photos showed almost identical benches, curved wooden feature walls and white cabinetry in both kitchens.

It’s not the first time Luke and Jasmin have been accused of stealing design ideas for their house.

Late last month, judge Shaynna Blaze confronted the couple after discovering their winning kids’ bedroom had come straight from the pages of Inside Out magazine.

‘Spotted wallpaper, bunk, animals, saffron, aztec, grey, white sheer,’ the 57-year-old interior designer listed, pointing out that ‘the only difference’ was the chair and how they’d styled it.

But Jasmin didn’t seem surprised by the similarities, and confessed she’d shown everyone the same photo, calling it her ‘inspo’.

‘So, you’re calling it inspiration,’ continued Shaynna. ‘What happens is inspiration is one thing, completely taking someone’s idea and making it your own is another.’
