The Bachelorette’s Georgia Love and Lee Elliott buy their first house

Congratulations! The Bachelorette’s Georgia Love and Lee Elliott buy their first house together after their wedding was postponed because of Covid-19

Their destination wedding in Italy was put on hold because of the coronavirus pandemic earlier this year.

But this hasn’t stopped Bachelorette lovebirds Georgia Love and Lee Elliott from kicking goals in their relationship.

The couple announced on Monday they had just bought their first house together.

Mechanical plumber Lee, 38, joked on Instagram that he was finally an adult because he’d purchased real estate with his newsreader fiancée, 31.

Georgia uploaded a similar post, alongside the caption: ‘Because launching two businesses and planning two weddings during a global pandemic wasn’t stressful, interesting or financially draining enough, we thought, “Why not buy a house too?”‘

The duo, who fell in love on The Bachelorette in 2016, smiled from ear to ear as they celebrated the milestone with a bottle of Dom Pérignon.

Georgia later revealed she was being trolled for announcing she’d bought a house.

She insisted she wasn’t showing off her wealth, but was instead ‘celebrating the fact Lee and I combined years of savings from working out a**es off so we could buy a property’.

‘That’s enough Internet for today me thinks,’ she added.

She later reflected on the situation on Twitter, firing off an angry tweet just before midnight.

‘Current situation: being trolled because I tried to celebrate buying a house,’ the Channel 10 journalist wrote.

Georgia and Lee were supposed to get married in Italy this year, but their plans had to change when international borders shut due to the coronavirus pandemic.

They then planned a ceremony closer to home, in Tasmania, but this also hasn’t come to fruition because of the Covid-19 situation in Australia.
