Susanna Reid will rejoin her co-stars in the Good Morning Britain studio on Tuesday after spending two weeks in self-isolation.

The TV presenter, 49, has been at home for the last several days after one of her children displayed mild symptoms of coronavirus.

Her co-host Piers Morgan revealed to viewers Susanna would be back in the studio this week after she has been presenting via link from her home.

Speaking to Susanna, Piers said: ‘Thank god, you’re on your last day of self-isolating. We get you back tomorrow.’

‘You’re two weeks of this, what’s the overview of self-isolation and the particular issues it throws up?’

Susanna looked thrilled to be returning to the studio and told viewers to follow government orders to remain in their homes.

She said: ‘Most people are in lockdown now, aren’t they? My impression is that most people are sticking to the rules.

‘As we said, the more people stick to the rules, the shorter this period will be.’

It comes after Susanna responded to Emily Atack’s mother Kate Robbins after she jokingly complained about her appearance on Good Morning Britain.

Kate, who is an actress and comedian, uploaded a video of herself to Twitter where she joked that Susanna’s impeccable appearance on the ITV show was ‘ruining it’ for everyone at home who doesn’t look as good.

Speaking in a faux-serious tone, Kate said: ‘Hi everybody, I would like to have a quick word. I would like to complain actually about Susanna Reid on Good Morning Britain.

‘She’s been broadcasting from her home every morning this week because she is self-isolating.

‘I hope her family are all fine, but I would just like to complain because she’s been wearing little or no make-up at all and still manages to look very attractive.

‘So Susanna, can you just stop it, please? Because you are ruining it for all of us who have to trail it on every day.’

Kate captioned the video: ‘@piersmorgan Just to cheer you – my complaint about @susannareid100’.

TV presenter Caroline Feraday joined in on the joke and said she was in full support of Kate’s ‘campaign’.

Susanna responded in good humour to the clip, writing: ‘You both look gorgeous!’

Last week, Susanna reassured GMB viewers she had no symptoms, explaining that one of her children had mild symptoms that appeared on Monday.

At home, she told Piers: ‘One of my children has a cough, a persistent cough. And that came on yesterday. Before the briefing yesterday afternoon, the advice had been the person themselves would be confined to the house for seven days.

‘Well, suddenly with these new drastic action measures, that changed yesterday afternoon. It meant if one member of your household had the cough or fever you would all have to go in self isolation for 14 days. Immediately, I thought I can’t go into work and work with you guys for 14 days.

Susanna shares three teenage sons with her ex husband Dominic Cotton, and pointed out that one child’s symptoms have meant both households are self-isolating.
