Susanna Reid reunited with her former BBC co-host Bill Turnbull on Wednesday’s Good Morning Britain after he stepped in for Piers Morgan.

And it wasn’t long until Ranvir Singh joked that the presenter, 49, was ‘living her best life’ as she presented with Bill again six years after they co-hosted BBC Breakfast.

Ranvir, 42, quipped: ‘I came into make-up this morning and I said, “How is everybody?”

‘Everyone in make-up said, “Susanna is living her best life, Susanna is so happy!”‘

To which two guests in the studio joked: ‘Piers, who? Piers, who?’

Yet Susanna was quick to stick up for her pal as she added: ‘I don’t want to make Piers Morgan jealous. Don’t worry, Piers, we’re looking forward to seeing you next Monday!’

It came after Bill, 64, sent the Good Morning Britain set into chaos on Wednesday after he lost his ‘tiny’ ear piece in the advert break.

Coming back from an advert, Susanna explained: ‘You know that they call Wednesdays “hump day”, well Bill is really having one of those Wednesdays.

‘So you’d forgotten to put your teeth in a little bit earlier and you’re having trouble reading…?’

To which Bill continued: ‘I haven’t got my contact lenses, I’m having to use my glasses and then my ear piece popped out during the break.’

Bill said: ‘We can’t find it anywhere, so the entire team, thousands of people who work in the studio…’

With Susanna clarifying: ‘If you think we staged this, we absolutely did not, this is just what happened in the break so this tiny little ear piece, about the size of a five pence, a peanut.’
