Stormzy and Wiley have ENDED their feud as the Godfather of Grime insists the pair are ‘over it now’

Stormzy and fellow rapper Wiley have ended their feud, after being embroiled in a Twitter spat earlier this year.

The 41-year-old grime star blamed his high-profile feud with the 26-year-old rapper on Ed Sheeran, but he insisted that they are both ‘over it now’.

Speaking to the Guardian on Friday, he explained: ‘We’re over it now. I’ve spoken to Stormzy, I’ve got love for him’, however he could not resist taking another swipe at Ed Sheeran who is at the centre of the row.

He went on: ‘I just wish he hadn’t jumped in the way to defend Ed; that’s the only reason it happened. Ed Sheeran, England’s golden boy – he can use you, but you’re not allowed to use him.’

The pair clashed over Wiley claiming that Ed – who collaborated with Stormzy on the 2019 single ‘Take Me Back To London’ – was trying to co-opt grime.

Wiley worked with Ed on his 2011 EP No 5 Collaborations Project but felt that he had not done enough to support the grime scene since.

Speaking about Ed’s collaboration with Big For You Boots hitmaker, Wiley said that it did not ‘sit well’ with him as he felt that Ed only became interested in grime artists because of Stormzy.

He explained: ‘You haven’t given a s*** about us, since the time you started, until Stormzy came along. I don’t like the way that grime gets used.’

Wiley also went on to criticise the music industry for recruiting grime artists, ‘making millions and then throwing them away’ without a care.

In January, Stormzy called Wiley’s sister a ‘little b***h’ and referred to his mother as a ‘w***e’ in his scathing diss track Still Disappointed.

He hit back at the Bow native after he dropped a second track, titled Eediyat Skengman 2, where he threatens to ‘rip Stormzy’s mum’s weave off of her head’.

In Still Disappointed, Stormzy claims Wiley’s mother was forced to move to Cyrpus after her house was shot at.

He raps: ‘I’m a real G and your dad’s a witness, boyed your bro and your sister begged it, I told that little b**** don’t ask for pictures.

‘Why you like to talk about mums so much? Where’s yours? Wiley you should have been the one to guide but since you wanna diss my mum so much, let’s talk about why you moved your mum to Cyprus.

‘That poor little woman was scared in the house cause you put her life in danger, you p***k. Since shots fly through your window you couldn’t be the one to save her you p***k.’

He also calls Wiley’s mother a ‘whore’, saying: ‘All because her son was fraud, can’t handle this, so she handles d*** like I handle the war, whore.’

Stormzy ended the track with: ‘You f**kboy, let me know how you wanna die. 24 hours to reply.’

In February, Stormzy reignited their feud when he shared a screenshot of his rival appearing to offer an olive branch over direct messages, after publicly slamming him for collaborating with Sheeran on Own It and Take Me Back to London.

Refusing to accept his apology, the chart-topping musician challenged Wiley to a grime clash, before the Heatwave rapper insisted the pair should clear the air with a boxing match, organised by sports promoter Eddie Hearn.

Stormzy – real name Michael Owuo Jr. – poked fun at his opponent’s attempt to bury the hatchet as he tweeted a lyric from his recent diss track, Still Disappointed.

The British-Ghanaian rapper said: ‘”Wiley’s a prick coz he love talk s**t then he sobers up and the begs it”

‘Is this you lot’s Godfather?!?! you f*****g pathetic loser lmao @WileyUK about you hate yourself for this, is this your king?!? #iHateMyself #Loser #IamSorry #IwishThisDidntHappen #ThisManIs41.’

Insisting his apology was only in reference to attacking Stormzy’s mother, Wiley responded: ‘I got this whole convo between me and mike ya kno don’t let him trick u into thinking I’m a punk Cos I just felt bad about his mums weave that’s all #JahKno.

‘I tried to be respectful that’s all Cos man terrorised ur mum that’s why.’ [sic]

The award-winning artist continued to throw direct jabs at the Godfather star as he said in further tweets: ‘Wiley says things like this then he runs back to Cyprus when you tell him to come link you. Don’t listen to Wiley he smokes crack and lies.

‘Wiley will never sell out the O2 so he is hell bent on trying to set up some weird clash with me, no Wiley you stupid crackhead, embarrasing’ [sic]

Taking things up a notch, the UK’s leading grime musician challenged the MC legend to a clash live on radio, with Wiley turning down the offer as he revealed he’s not in the country.

Stormzy said: ‘Ok how about this, @WileyUK I’ll clash you TONIGHT LIVE ON @RinseFM @1Xtra any station you want and bury you live for all the grime scene to see.

‘The Godfather of grime is a real big P**** who gets into war, gets buried, ends up hating himself for trying it and then apologises.’ [sic]

The Heavy Is the Head hitmaker later accused Wiley of hypocrisy as the Champagne Dance star insisted they should settle out their differences in the ring using boxing promoter Eddie’s services – despite hitting out at Stormzy for allowing ‘culture vulture’ Ed to ‘profit’ from the grime culture.

‘Do not be distracted of the fact that I am asking him to fly back from cyprus and clash me live on radio.’ [sic]

Rounding off their public argument, Wiley tweeted: ‘You will not come up of my genre @stormzy and tell me what to do I tell u what to do.’
