Star Trek actor William Shatner opts for a fist bump amid COVID-19 outbreak… after revealing he is unable to perform the iconic Vulcan salute
Star Trek’s William Shatner opted for a first bump when he touched down in London earlier in the week.
The 88-year-old actor used the maneuver to avoid any sort of close contact amid the deadly and highly contagious coronavirus outbreak.

William has faced much backlash from fans over the past few days for opting to still go ahead with an event at the Eventim Apollo in London amid COVID-19 fears.
He was in town for a screening of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan before a meet and greet with VIP ticket holders.

William later confirmed via Twitter that it was not his decision to make and he had to make an appearance as part of a signed contract.
‘Unfortunately it wasn’t my decision to make. I was under contract to perform. So please take your wrath elsewhere,’ he wrote after a fan angrily Tweeted at him.
However, the rest of his UK and European tour has been cancelled and he has officially entered self isolation as of Wednesday morning.
‘Captain’s Log: Stardate 1 of self imposed isolation,’ he began on social media.
‘After having arrived at Planet Home, I was warmly greeted by Emissaries Espresso & Macchiato. I look forward to my planned respite from my normal duties. Kirk out.’

The settlement will see him receive all equine equipment – including ‘all horse semen’, so he can continue his passion for breeding horses.
Elizabeth, 59, will also receive a $2 million lump sum for spousal support, per their prenuptial agreement, according to TMZ.
William and his former love wed in 2001 and have no children. It was his forth marriage her her second.
The Boston Legal star was previously married to Gloria Rand (1956 to 1969), Marcy Lafferty (1973 to 1996) and Nerine Kidd (1997 to 1999). Nerine past away in 1999 after an accidental drowning with alcohol and Valium found in her system.
