The video was filmed from the comfort of her kitchen with Sophie dressed in a simple grey T-shirt.

She wore her long brunette locks loose and addressed the camera by saying: ‘I think growing up and being in the industry young I had a lot of pressure to be like other people, I really compared myself to others so much.’

The beauty continued: ‘I always thought everyone was better than me I always made excuses I thought I’d just settle and be less.

‘That’s the mindset I had for a while and as I have got older I’ve realised that it is not the mindset to be having.

‘As I’ve got older, I’ve realised you don’t need to be competitive with people, there is no reason to be competitive with people around you.’

Sophie shot to fame on Geordie Shore in 2011 when she was 21 and appeared on seven seasons on the show.

She continued: ‘I think what I have learnt is, you’ve just got to stay in your own lane.

‘You can get really caught up with wanting the finer things in life, which is fine, but I think you need to take a step back.

‘If you do think that a new car is going to make you happy or an extra X amount of money in your bank makes you happy, it is only temporary happiness.’

‘I’ve experienced that throughout the years.

‘Although I have a beautiful home, I have worked for it which makes me appreciate it even more.’

Sophie continued: ‘When I was younger, I  remember looking at people and thinking “why haven’t I got that designer watch” it really brought me down.

‘Since isolating I’ve really thought it’s not about those things any more.

‘I’m a lot happier now I’ve accepted that it’s the real things in life like family, friends, people you’re close to.’

she continued: ‘Starting out in Geordie Shore years ago , I wanted to be the top girl and be so popular with everyone. Hence why I put so much filler in my face.

‘Deep down, I was fighting a losing battle. You’re never going to be like other people because you are you.

‘As I have got older I have realised that. I’ve set myself goals, I don’t want quick fixes and I don’t want quick money.’

Sophie shared that she has only just felt ‘happiness’ since taking a step back and reflecting on what matters to her in life.

She continued: ‘Anybody watching this, remember what we see on Instagram and what we see through our phones is just the highlight of someone’s day.

‘Who knows when the camera has gone if that person is happy.’

The star then told fans it is up to them to create their own happiness and to do so by cherishing relationships with friends and family.

She ended by sharing: ‘Don’t try and be like anyone else, I did that my whole life and It doesn’t work, you always end up coming back to who you are.

‘It took me a long time, 30 years old and I am finally found self-love and I am really confident with who I am as a person.’
