Sia gushes about being ‘in heaven’ as a new mother after adopting two boys who were aging out of foster care: ‘It’s a blessing for me’
She’s a nine-time Grammy Award-nominated singer and songwriter who recently confirmed she adopted two boys last year.
And now, one year on from realizing her newfound motherhood, singer Sia gushed about the progress she and her sons have made during an appearance on Good Morning America on Friday.
‘It’s a blessing for me,’ she confessed off the top of her remote interview.
‘For me, I think they saved me — so I’m in heaven.’

The Australian native revealed that the boys had been in need of a forever home for so long they were about to ‘age out of the foster care system.’
Both of them were 18-years-old around the time of the adoption in 2019, and have since turned 19.
‘They both suffered a lot, and I’ve been able to get them the help,’ Sia explained of their mental health.

‘I have the resources to get them the help that they needed for their early trauma.,’ she added.
The We Are Born star, 44, went on to reveal that their new family life has been a work in progress, but worth every bit of effort.
‘It’s taken a year and we’ve had our ups and downs, but we’ve never been in a better place than today, in fact.’

Just last month, during an interview with SiriusXM’s The Morning Mash Up, the traditionally private pop star discussed how the two teenagers had been coping with quarantine in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
‘They are both finding it pretty difficult, one more so than the other,’ Sia shared.
‘But they’re both doing things that are really good for them right now, that are really helpful. They’re really doing a lot of educational stuff that’s good for them.’
Sia recently released her new single Together. It is one of 10 original songs featured in her upcoming motion picture – Music – that was written and directed by Sia and features Maddie Ziegler, Kate Hudson and Leslie Odom Jr., among other stars.
