Woolworths slammed after shopper spots a ‘sneaky’ detail in meat section sale signage: ‘It’s absolutely disgraceful’

A concerned shopper has unleashed on Woolworths after they noticed a ‘sneaky’ detail on the supermarket’s meat display. 

The customer said they thought all the items in the meat fridge under a sign reading ‘Mix and match Any two for $15’ were included in the deal. 

However, it was only seven items with their own special tag that could be mixed and matched. 

The Queensland shopper was outraged by the ‘misleading’ display slamming it as ‘absolutely disgraceful’.

A Woolworths spokesperson responded to the shopper’s gripe saying while the products in the deal are clearly marked, they will be looking into the signage issue.

‘Gotta love Woolworths and their sneaky signage. Going past thinking mix and match anything in here when in fact it’s only a small handful of items all mixed in,’ the customer said in a tweet.

‘Absolutely disgraceful..’

They shared an image of a full meat fridge at a Gold Coast store with a mix and match sign above it saying customers can buy ‘any two’ items for $15.

A closer look however reveals only seven of the 18 items in the fridge are included in the special as they have the mix and match tag.

One man sympathised with the shopper’s frustration. 

‘Psychological warfare principles are everywhere now that the global pie is shrinking and everyone is trying to keep up their share. Going to get a lot worse and it ain’t getting better. We are beyond the tipping point.’

Woolworths responded to the shopper’s complaint asking what store they visited so they can look into the issue.

A spokesperson told ‘Each of the products that are part of the mix and match are clearly marked, however we do note the customer’s concern and we’ll be following this up’.
