Sean Penn hands out masks at his drive-through coronavirus testing site… before wearing TWO on his face

Sean Penn was back on the frontlines of efforts to slow the spread of Covid-19 on Thursday.

The 59-year-old actor was hard at work at the drive-through testing site in Malibu that’s run by his own Community Organized Relief Effort (CORE) non-profit.

He helped dispense masks to local residents, though he wasn’t always wearing one himself.

Doing his part: Sean Penn, 59, was hard at work on Thursday distributing masks at a drive-through coronavirus testing site in Malibu with his non-profit CORE

Sean represented CORE with a black trucker hat and a black windbreaker prominently displaying the organization’s logo.

He also had a casual white graphic T-shirt and gray khakis with tan hiking boots.

The Tree Of Life actor had been wearing his mask throughout the day, though he sometimes took it off to chat with his coworkers.

He was spotted handing out a mask to another man with his own pulled down around his neck.

Before he could leave the site, Penn put a second mask over his regular one to cover a greater surface area and used disinfectant wipes all over his truck’s dashboard.

The actor and activist has been helping his foundation run the Malibu testing site, which offers free tests to first responders and essential workers, as well as all local Malibu residents.

The drive-through offers two different coronavirus tests: a nasal swab that’s pushed all the way back to the throat, as well as an antibody test that requires a small finger prick and can determine if someone is infected with the coronavirus or was previously infected.

The nasal swab takes two to three days to get results back, while the antibody test can take five to seven days.

Sean and CORE have also been helping to run drive-through testing locations throughout the city of Los Angeles.

The organization took over three of the six sites currently run by the city in order to allow the first responders staffing them to respond to other emergencies.

‘What is going to be most valuable in this pandemic of what we as citizen organizations can do is to get the professionals relieved of duties that are beneath their training sets … so they can get back on the street,’ Penn explained to ABC News.

He’s often accompanied by his girlfriend Leila George, 28, an Australian–American actress whom he’s been dating since 2016.

The two actors have also been joined by Penn’s daughter Dylan Penn, 28, and his son Hopper Penn, 26, both from his marriage to Robin Wright.

Penn said: ‘Both of my kids are working in the hot zone line … they are very service-oriented people themselves and there was no keeping them off it.’
