Schapelle Corby on why she joined SAS Australia

Schapelle Corby has signed on to star in Channel Seven’s new military-style reality show SAS Australia.

And the convicted drug smuggler, who served nine years in Bali’s Kerobokan Prison, told Perth Now on Sunday that she is not entering reality TV to win over the public.

‘I don’t care what people think of me. I hope people enjoy it, but this is for me. I’m doing this so I know I’m in control of my mind,’ the 43-year-old said.

Schapelle, who was released from prison in 2014, added that the significance of the show is that she is known as just a number.

‘We go into SAS as a number, not a name, which is significant for me because I won’t be Schapelle Corby, I will just be a human being,’ she explained.

SAS Australia will see stars attempt to pass the selection process to join the Australian Army’s elite Special Air Service.
