Savannah Chrisley opens up about decision to postpone wedding with Nic Kerdiles: ‘There was a lot of pressure’

Savannah Chrisley announced last April that she said yes to fiancé Nic Kerdiles’ proposal a little over a year after they began dating.

But the reality TV star later revealed in October that they were ‘taking some steps back’ in their relationship, which included postponing their wedding.

She opened up Thursday about their decision to push back their nuptials during a chat with dad Todd Chrisley on his podcast Chrisley Confessions.

The 22-year-old said: ‘We made [the decision] together. We both realized that things moved way too fast and we needed to go back to dating.

‘I just knew we had to work on things on a different level. We had to dig deeper and it’s hard. It’s 2020 and you know what, it’s okay not to follow the guidelines and the whole timeframe that everyone follows.’

She also revealed some advice from a friend that resonated: ‘She said, “When you get married, the good things in your relationship become great and the bad things in your relationship become worse.”

‘And I truly sat on that and I thought about it and there was just so much that Nic and I needed to work through. And there was a lot of pressure because we got engaged, it was public and everyone expected a wedding.’

‘That made me feel good that he supported my decision. It’s been a whirlwind of things and we’re still working on things. We’re both in therapy. We’re doing what we know we need to do.’

She revealed to E! News back in October that the wedding was postponed, but they’re still engaged: ‘Marriage isn’t just for the Instagram, it’s not for the photos, it’s not a photo-opp. It’s a real life thing.’
