She’s been keeping her followers in the loop about how her and her family are handling the current coronavirus lockdown. 

And Sarah Michelle Gellar finally felt the need to channel her iconic TV alter ego Buffy Summers on Tuesday while she took a stroll on a break from home-schooling her children.

The former Buffy The Vampire Slayer star took to Instagram during her walk to reveal to fans that she had stumbled upon a giant stake lying at the side of the road.

Wearing black sports gear, Sarah, 42, snapped herself brandishing the large spike of wood, striking a pose reminiscent of her TV heroine The Slayer.

On the show – which ran for seven seasons from 1997 through 2003 – a stake was Buffy’s weapon of choice, using it battle the vampires and demons of her home town Sunnydale, which sat on the edge of a Hellmouth.

Looking effortlessly cool in shades and a head scarf, Sarah captioned her photo: ‘Hmmmm…….. found this on my walk today.’

This delighted fans, with her famous pals chiming in in the comments.

Her on-screen sister Michelle Trachtenberg replied, ‘Buffy, what are we going going to do now?’ in a nod to the final lines of the show, which saw her character Dawn ask this of her sister following the destruction of Sunnydale. 

Selma Blair – Sarah’s co-star from cult movie Cruel Intentions – wanted in on the action.

She posted: ‘And the adventures begin. Can I be your sidekick?’

Sarah was feeling nostalgic for less worrisome times on Friday, posting an Instagram throwback snap of a seaside trip she was on in January. 

The blonde bombshell could be seen relaxing in a hot tub while modeling a black swimsuit and enjoying an iced drink.

She captioned: ‘#flashbackfriday Take me back to January – when I was on vacation and the only thing corona meant to me was beer’.

Sarah Michelle has been married to Freddie Prinze Jr. since 2002 and they share two children – Charlotte, 10, and Rocky, seven.

Freddie turned 44 this past Thursday and his wife marked the occasion on Instagram snap by posting a glamour shot taken of him as a teen.

‘A very long time ago, on this very day, this handsome man was born,’ captioned Sarah Michelle, who has done six movies with Freddie. 

‘I am extremely happy about that (although I doubt he’s happy that I still have this high school picture) happy birthday @realfreddieprinze #happybirthday’.
