Coming up: Sandra Bullock will star in and produce Lost City of D, a romantic action movie from Paramount

She sets off on a life-threatening journey to find the city, along with the actor who portrays the lead character in her book.

It is rumored that Ryan Reynolds is being eyed to play the male lead but he hasn’t yet signed on to the project.

Sandra and Ryan previously teamed up for the 2009 hit rom-com The Proposal.

According to THR the movie is ‘an old-fashioned star vehicle as well as a screwball adventure featuring mismatched leads, witty repartee and of course, romance’.

On board to direct are Adam and Aaron Nee (Band of Robbers, The Last Romantic).

The Lost City of D is reportedly being developed as a priority by newly instated motion picture group president Emma Watts.

Meanwhile, Bird Box 2 is in development, two years after Sandra starred in the first installment of the hit Netflix horror.

Josh Malerman, the novelist whose work inspired the original movie starring Sandra Bullock, has revealed efforts have begun to create a follow-up to the 2018 thriller.

He told Inverse in July: ‘I can’t say much, but I can say that it is in development. Sometimes it’s weird, all this secrecy, but I’m game.’

At the moment, plot details of the upcoming movie remains unclear. However, hints about the film could come from the synopsis for the sequel novel, Malorie which was released over the summer.

The novel is set 12 years after the events of the original, which would mean that the kids in the movie have now become teenagers.

The synopsis also reveals that the monsters in the original have ‘changed into something even more frightening’.

Despite this, it’s not yet known whether Sandra will commit to starring in the sequel.
