Sam Smith is getting into the party spirit ahead of their headline performance at Sydney’s Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras on Saturday.

And on Monday, the Grammy-winning English singer enjoyed the sights of the harbour city with their publicist, Trent Titmarsh.

The Stay With Me hitmaker kept things casual in a plain white T-shirt and pink shorts.

Later in the day, Sam embraced Trent as they relaxed at a trendy pub in Paddington.

Sam was seen smiling and laughing as they enjoyed a round of midday drinks, before ordering a glass of champagne.

The Dancing with a Stranger star touched down in Sydney on Monday.

Soon after their arrival, Sam spoke of their enthusiasm for the Mardi Gras performance in a post shared to Instagram. 

‘Mardi Gras ready,’ they captioned a photo of themself in a pink and yellow kangaroo dress, matching headscarf and drop earrings. 

They added: ‘Sydney. I’m home, and I can’t wait for this weekend. I’m a Mardi Gras virgin and I’m ready for my cherry to be popped.’

Sam will be joining  Kesha, Dua Lipa and Mika at the Sydney’s Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras on Saturday, February 29.

The Mardi Gras parade will be broadcast live on SBS from 7:30pm.

The coverage will be hosted by Courtney Act, Joel Creasey, Narelda Jacobs and Zoë Coombs Marr.
