Sam Faiers faces 10-day quarantine as she and partner Paul Knightley return to the UK from Spain

Sam Faiers and her partner Paul Knightley were spotted returning to London on Tuesday, after enjoying a week-long post-lockdown trip to Marbella, Spain.

Accompanied by their two children Paul Jr., four, and Rose, two, the couple donned face masks as they made their way through Heathrow Airport’s bustling terminal.

And former TOWIE star Sam, 29, has more than potential holiday blues to face, as she and her family will now have to go into 10 days’ quarantine at their Surrey home, following new UK government guidelines – announced during their trip.

Sam looked casually cool for her short journey back home, donning a loose white Nike T-shirt, which she teamed with grey cycling shorts.

Donning a pair of black running shoes, she guided her daughter’s pushchair through the terminal while carrying a black backpack.

Wearing her brunette tresses in a high ponytail, the mother-of-two walked beside her longtime partner Paul, who pushed a large trolley of suitcases.

Also going casual in a black T-shirt with khaki shorts, the businessman kept an eye on his son and namesake, who appeared to be in good spirits as he trailed his parents.

Adorable little Rosie gleefully held her doll aloft as she was wheeled through the airport and toward one of the elevators to the car park.

Sam and her family were among a large number of celebrities and influencers who made a beeline for Spanish shores after travel restrictions were lifted.

But it took just a matter of days before their travels, following four months of global lockdown, before restrictions were reapplied for travel to Spain.

The UK government suddenly pulled its air bridge with Spain on Saturday night with almost immediate effect following a spike of novel coronavirus cases in the country.

The move, which came into effect at midnight, means anyone returning to Britain from Spain faces an automatic fortnight-long quarantine at home.

The rules apply to all regions of Spain, including the Canary and Balearic islands – though politicians in the latter tried in vain to thrash out a regional air bridge.

Spain was one of the worst hit countries in Europe by the coronavirus pandemic, with more than 290,000 cases and over 28,000 deaths.

However,  it imposed very strict lockdown measures to contain the spread, gradually easing them earlier in the summer.

Spain was originally put on a list of 74 countries which were considered safe for Brits to visit, prompting many celebs to book getaways.

Earlier this month, Sam revealed that her young son baby Paul, now four, has been allowed to go to summer camp in an Instagram post.

She famously clashed with partner Paul on the Mummy Diaries in 2018, after he refused to send their son to nursery or pre-school.

The reality star announced the news as she took daughter Rosie for an outing to a cafe, and revealed she was feeling emotional over her son’s absence.

She wrote: ‘Today was such a big day for us, little Paul went to summer camp!

‘If you know us and follow our journey on the Mummy Diaries you’ll know Paul hasn’t been to nursery or pre-school, so today was totally new for us.

‘Mummy took Rosie for a juice and brownie. Bless her she kept asking all day ‘when’s Paul home?’

‘He had such a fun day packed with activities, he was a little unsure at first, but we got there in the end xxx (still can’t believe he starts school in September). It’s all so sad but cute.’
