Her newborn had a brown all-in-one on and matching hat and was wrapped in a cream blanket.

Romee announced back in May that she and Laurens, 29, whom she married in October 2019 after eight years together, were expecting their first child.

The couple’s announcement comes less than two weeks after Romee showed off her bare baby bump on Instagram while bouncing on a birthing ball.

The beauty looked incredible in the post wearing an all-black ensemble and a beige beanie hat as she smiled to the camera.

She captioned the post with the words: ‘Mondays be like…’

Romee recently admitted that she had tried to get pregnant for two years while unknowingly battling polycystic ovary syndrome.

Covering Vogue Netherlands’ Motherhood Issue, the Dutch supermodel spoke candidly about her journey, revealing she hopes her battle will inspire other women struggling to conceive.

Romee said that complications from her PCOS, and a strict lifestyle, also meant the Victoria’s Secret model didn’t have a period for seven years.

Polycystic ovary syndrome is a hormonal disorder causing enlarged ovaries with small cysts on the outer edges. Symptoms include menstrual irregularity, excess hair growth, acne, and obesity.

Announcing the couple’s news and opening up on her condition back in May, Romee wrote on Instagram: ‘WE’RE HAVING A BABY. 2 years ago I got diagnosed with PCOS after not getting my period for 7 years.

‘I was devastated because being a mom and starting a family with @laurensvleeuwen is my biggest dream..

‘I was so scared that I would never be able to because I got told it was harder to get babies in a natural way..

‘I started to research PCOS and came to the conclusion that mine was not the typical pcos.. Mine was because of my body being in fight or flight mode.. which means my body was under constant stress.’

Romee explained that constant jet-setting, working out every day and eating ‘restricting foods’ as a model had taken its toll because she had ‘pressured my body too much’.

She continued: ‘I never felt mentally super stressed so it was hard te understand this, but my life consisted of travelling all the time (no biorhythm), working out every day, eating super clean (restricting foods).

‘I think I pressured my body too much, and honestly every body is so different but I think my weight was not good for my body to function properly and couldn’t handle the constant traveling.

‘This was the point where I started to research natural healing for PCOS and came to the conclusion that I should do way less high intensity training, don’t restrict foods, be nice to myself, and take breaks when needed.

‘I also tried some natural supplements, acupuncture and we got a place back in the Netherlands as well, so we could spend more time with Family (since im such a family person).

‘I’m so happy and grateful to say that I got my period back last november AND that WE’RE SOON A FAMILY OF THREE & to the women trying to conceive, believe in yourself and be nice for yourself and your body and don’t let those thoughts get to you to much [sic]’.

In October, Romee recently cut into a mouthwatering cake at an intimate baby shower with family members.

She panned around the room in a video on her Instagram Story, revealing decorations in shades of pink, taupe, gold and white.

Some candle sticks and lavish floral arrangements framed an assortment of cupcakes, cake pops and macarons, placed around a white three-tier cake, adorned with dusty rose butterfly embellishments.

She also arranged some place settings around a black coffee table for some contemporary casual dining, next to a wall of balloons cascading down a giant R.

Romee showed off her plate of sweets, next to a pink napkin and a clear placeholder, reading: ‘Romee 18.10.20’

Her gifts were wrapped in white and gold, placed on a tiny side table in the corner, next to a white toy carriage with white stuffed animals, holding down some white and gold balloons.

The Victoria’s Secret Angel set the video to a cover of Frank Sinatra’s I Love You Baby, writing: ‘Surprised by the best – little intimate family babyshower. Thanks to @chato.events’

She was joined by sister Ise, whom she posed with in a Boomerang, while cradling her baby bump and showing off her long legs in some skintight black leggings.

Romee’s mom Saskia was also in attendance, posing with her daughters for a three-generation family snap.

What is PCOS? Causes, symptoms and treatment explained…

PCOS stands for polycystic ovary syndrome.

PCOS is a hormonal disorder causing enlarged ovaries with small cysts on the outer edges.

Women with PCOS may have infrequent or prolonged menstrual periods or excess male hormone (androgen) levels.

Symptoms include menstrual irregularity, excess hair growth, acne, and obesity.

Fertility may also be affected.

While the exact cause of PCOS isn’t known, insulin resistance caused by a highly refined and processed diet is believed to be one of the biggest triggers.

PCOS can be managed through diet, the contraceptive pill and other oral medications.
