In the clip, shared to Australia Zoo’s YouTube account, Robert explained that he wanted to try his hand at oil painting after feeling inspired by American artist Bob Ross.
He decided to document the process to ‘add pressure’ – before sharing the results with his followers.
Dressed in his iconic khaki uniform, Robert, who is the son of late zookeeper and TV personality Steve Irwin, is seen painting the blue and orange background before adding a forest of trees in front of a picturesque mountain.

‘I had an idea for what I wanted it to look like. But that completely went out the window,’ he explained.
Robert continued: ‘I rolled with it and yet ended up looking pretty nice.’
His fans quickly commented underneath the video, with one writing: ‘It’s almost like you’re a Bob Ross and Steve Irwin hybrid.’

Masterpiece: Robert revealed that he had been keeping himself distracted in self-isolation by learning to paint
Another joked: ‘Just waiting for his new show: The Joy of Mr. Irwin’s Crocodile Painting Neighborhood.’
He also shared another piece of his incredible nature-inspired artwork to his Twitter account.
The wildlife advocate appears to be a man of multi-talents.
