Riverdale’s Vanessa Morgan shares first photo of newborn son and reveals she’s named him River
She gave birth to her first child, a boy, last month.
And on Thursday, Riverdale star Vanessa Morgan shared her first photo of the infant while revealing his name in a post on her Instagram.
The actress, 28, shares her child with her estranged husband Michael Kopech, 24, and said that she’s called her son River.

Her boy: The Canadian actress, 28, showed just one tiny outstretched arm and portion of cheek of her newborn as he nestled up to her to feed and revealed she has named him River
In the photo she shared of her newborn, she showed just one tiny outstretched arm with hospital bracelet on the wrist and a portion of the baby’s cheek as he snustled up to his mom to feed.
In the accompanying caption, Morgan wrote: ‘The most challenging, beautiful experience of my life. On January 29th, Michael & I Welcomed our beautiful baby boy River into the world.’
She went on: ‘Words cannot describe this kind of love. We are enjoying this time home with him, being present, & giving him all the lovin in the world.
‘Becoming parents is the most rewarding gift in the entire world. Thank you God. Isaiah 66:9.’

Morgan had announced her pregnancy last summer when she was three months along.
She shared photos from her gender reveal party along with a snapshot of her positive pregnancy test and a video from her very first ultrasound to her social media.
‘I am overjoyed to be welcoming my baby boy into the world this January,’ she announced.
‘It’s almost like everything I thought mattered in this life has completely changed.. We’re here for such a greater purpose and life is so precious.’
Morgan has also revealed that she discovered she was pregnant in May 2020, one month before MLB pro Kopech filed for divorce in his home state of Texas.
Her rep confirmed to the Chicago Tribune that the White Sox player was the baby’s father but that hadn’t stopped him from ending the five-month marriage.
The couple had tied the knot on January 4, 2020, in Florida after getting engaged in July 2019 following a year of dating.
