Riverdale’s Camila Mendes signs on to star as Pete Davidson’s girlfriend in new movie American Sole

Her Hulu movie Palm Springs set a record for hours watched over the first three days of release in July.

And now Camila Mendes is set to star with Pete Davidson and O’Shea Jackson Jr. in the upcoming movie American Sole.

Deadline.com reported Thursday that the Riverdale actress, 26, has signed on for the drama that is being produced by Kevin Hart.

The film follows two twenty-somethings, played by Davidson and Jackson, who have mounting college debts and turn to after-market sneaker reselling to achieve the American dream.

But when their startup runs out of cash and a shady investor is their only way out, the dream quickly becomes a nightmare. 

Mendes will play the girlfriend of Davidson’s character, according to Deadline.

The Brazilian-American has starred as Veronica Lodge on The CW’s Riverdale since 2017.

Production on the fifth season of the show has still not been able to begin due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The show is shot in Vancouver, B.C., in Canada.
