‘Everyone’s a comedian’: Richard Wilkins gets another case of Corona beer delivered to his door by Weekend Today host Rebecca Maddern as he tests positive to COVID-19 AGAIN

Richard Wilkins has entered his eighth day of self-isolation after testing positive for the coronavirus last week. 

And the 65-year-old entertainment reporter still has plenty of ‘comedian’ friends reaching out to him, as he received his third carton of Corona beer at his doorstep on Friday.

‘Third delivery today. Everyone’s a comedian! Thanks, but I’ve already got plenty. Stay well,’ the television presenter said on Instagram.

Just a few minutes later, Richard discovered who the culprit was – Weekend Today host Rebecca Maddern.    

‘So that was YOU, Rebecca! You are a funny, crazy, fabulous person and I can’t wait till we’re behind the desk together! Thank you,’ Richard added in his Instagram comments.  

Despite the hilarious gift, Richard also had some concerning news for his fans.

He said on Instagram stories: ‘Look, I got tested yesterday, people came around here in the moon suits and tested me and drum roll please… 

‘I got a call about an hour ago. I am still positive. Can you believe it? I’ve got a motherload of this frickin’ thing.’   

The Channel Nine star went on to explain he would be tested again on Monday.

Richard tested positive to the coronavirus (COVID-19) last Sunday, despite not feeling any of the symptoms of the virus.

While it’s impossible to know with 100 per cent certainty where Richard caught the virus from, he did ‘briefly’ meet singer Rita Wilson backstage at her Sydney Opera House concert on March 7.

Rita and her husband, actor Tom Hanks, tested positive for COVID-19 last Thursday. As soon as the couple announced their diagnosis, Richard went into self-isolation. 

As of Friday afternoon, there are 833 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Australia, including seven deaths.
