Red Wiggle Simon Pryce says becoming a parent is a surreal experience

Red Wiggle Simon Pryce welcomed his first child, a son named Asher William, with his wife, Lauren Hannaford, two weeks ago.

And on Thursday, the 48-year-old children’s entertainer revealed what life as a new parent has been like for the couple, who tried for years to have a baby.

He told WHO magazine it was quite surreal for him and personal trainer Lauren, 34, suddenly having a baby in the household. 

‘We’re in the kitchen making a coffee and we’ll be like, “Hang on a minute, there’s a baby in the other room!”‘ Simon, who joined The Wiggles in 2013, said.

‘It’s funny though, now you actually can’t imagine your life any differently,’ he added.

‘So far he’s been pretty consistent with his sleeps and feeds, so we’ve had a little bit of a routine. But we understand that’s going to change at any second.’

The couple, who met in 2011, announced they were expecting a baby in September. They announced Asher’s arrival on Instagram on January 10.

‘I am so overcome with emotion and overwhelming feelings of love that it’s impossible to put in to words everything I am feeling right now,’ Simon captioned a photo of Lauren and Asher in hospital.

‘@lozhannaford and I are so fortunate, happy and blessed to have you in our lives.

‘Welcome to the world ASHER WILLIAM PRYCE.’

Lauren added that their little boy’s named meant ‘happy and blessed’.

‘That is exactly what we are yo have you, our gorgeous boy,’ she wrote in a post on her own account.

‘We love you endlessly and beyond comprehension already! We miss you so much when you are sleeping… but at the same time just want to sit and watch you for hours while you do it.’
