Rebel Wilson sells her investment property in Sydney’s Gladesville for nearly $1 million

She’s certainly no slouch when it comes to making movies.

And Hollywood star Rebel Wilson certainly means business, with her landing almost $1million from the sale of her Sydney investment property.

According to a report in Domain on Tuesday, the 40-year-old actress recently sold her second investment property in Sydney’s Gladesville for over $880,000.

Rebel purchased the two-bedroom property back in 2017, paying a massive $885,000 for it at the time.

The property was sold by Cobden & Hayson, with it expected to have sold well-above the price she paid for it.

The sale was in the name of Camp Sugar production company, which co-produced last year’s comedy film, The Hustle.

This is the second Gladesville property sold by Rebel, with the star offloading another property in the area in January.

She sold the property in just nine days, with an asking price of between $750,000 and $800,000.

Rebel had initially asked for $660 per week rent, but was forced to cut it back to $625, before eventually settling on $595, according to a February 2019 report by Realestate.com.au.

It’s just one of many properties the Pitch Perfect star owns, with Rebel purchasing a waterfront home in Sydney’s Birchgrove for $3.76million in 2014.

She also owns a two-bedroom townhouse in Balmain, which she purchased in 2018 for $1.88million.

In an April 2019 interview with US InStyle magazine, Rebel said she always made it her goal to be ‘financially secure’ after growing up with ‘not having much’.

‘I always wanted to make something of myself. And, weirdly, I always believed I would be rich and successful even as a very young child, and I would say that to people,’ she confessed.

She added: ‘If you manifest [what you want], I really do think it comes true.’

Speaking to Vogue Australia in May 2018, the business-savvy star admitted she’s always been good at negotiating her own Hollywood contracts.

She said she also chooses projects which favour women, creating more of a level playing field in terms of pay.

‘Pay disparity hasn’t been an issue and I also think I’m a good negotiator, which is why I get good contracts,’ she explained.

‘Some women may not know their worth, but I have a good sense of it. I don’t need to be paid more than men: I just need to be paid fairly.’
