The third series of Killing Eve is currently underway – and was brought back two weeks earlier than scheduled as a special gift for fans battling lockdown boredom.

Speaking of the decision, Jodie’s co-star Sandra Oh said: ‘Particularly right now, this month in North America, and I am sure for you guys as well, is a really tough time’.

‘So, if we can throw out some extra fun and devilish sunshine then I am really happy that we can provide that,’ the Grey’s Anatomy star added.

Sandra, who plays British Intelligence agent Eve Polastri in the BBC thriller, went on to explain the pressure she faced to make the new season unique and interesting.

Over the past two series we’ve seen intriguing Russian contract killer Villanelle (Jodie Comer) obsess over British Intelligence agent Eve Polastri – and vice versa.

The pair oscillate between capturing each other, killing each other and falling in love with each other.

The cliffhanger finale of series two ended with Villanelle shooting Eve and leaving her for dead, after the assassin imagined living with Eve together in Alaska.

The new series begins six months on, with Villanelle apparently retired from the game, living in Barcelona and about to marry for the first time.
