Real Housewives of Orange County star Lauri Peterson’s son Josh Waring files lawsuit against Orange County over prison attack

Josh Waring, the son of original Real Housewives of Orange County star Lauri Peterson, is suing Orange County over a prison fight, claiming he could have been killed in it.

Waring, 32, filed a lawsuit on Monday against Orange County and two Orange County Sheriff’s deputies assigned to the men’s central jail, according to TMZ.

He alleges in the lawsuit that the deputies set up the attack on him, which took place in October 2019, to have him killed in retaliation for Waring making complaints about them.

The attack was captured on camera at the Orange County jail in Santa Ana, showing a man hiding under a stairwell before coming out and attacking him.

While Waring was able to defend himself at first, his attacker wielded razor blades wrapped in towels, and Waring ultimately suffered ‘deep gashes’ to his chest and face.

The brawl lasted for over 90 seconds before it was broken up by the guards, but Waring alleges it was set up the two deputies, Ever Zelaya and Ryan Hansen.

Waring claims in the lawsuit that Zelaya had previously threatened to choke him while delivering a stern warning.

‘You better watch the f*** out, I just killed the last guy who pissed me off and I got a paid vacation,’ Zelaya reportedly told Waring, according to the suit.

The lawsuit also alleges that both Zelaya and Hansen tried to kill him on another occasion when they entered his jail cell and, ‘unleashed several rounds of pepper spray balls.’

Waring is suing the county and deputies for unspecified damages, which comes just weeks after his release.

Waring was sent to prison in 2016 for shooting at a man outside a sober living home, serving nearly four years behind bars.

He was released in March after copping to a plea deal, pleading guilty to several felony counts including assault with a firearm, evading a police officer, 2 counts of assault, hit-and-run with property damage and battery.

Peterson left Real Housewives of Orange County in 2008, after revealing her son was addicted to heroin and had relapsed.

She told TMZ in October that her son has been attacked several times throughout the years, and that he felt his life was in danger.

‘He’s also been attacked by guards that are on video tape that is under protective seal, and its’ being covered up right now,’ she said.

‘We’re trying to get that protective seal released so that the public can see the guard attack Josh in the middle of the night while he was sleeping,’ she added.
