Real Housewives Of New York City: Tinsley Mortimer moves to Chicago for boyfriend Scott Kluth

Tinsley Mortimer moved to Chicago to be with boyfriend Scott Kluth on Thursday’s episode of The Real Housewives Of New York City and left the series midseason.

The 44-year-old socialite finally got the ‘fairytale’ she’d always longed for when she and Scott, 40, reunited for good after a lengthy breakup, and Tinsley moved into his home.

The season 12 episode titled, Love Him And Leave Them, showed Tinsley telling her castmates that Scott had shown the ultimate proof of his affection, building her a closet and ‘glam room’ at his place.

Initially doubtful that the two would last, most of her pals came around to tell her how happy they were for her and bid her a fond adieu, as she was leaving the show.

Leah McSweeney, 37, opened a bottle of champagne as Tinsley and her mother Dale Mercer packed her things, with all of them toasting to ‘fairytales!’

Leah admitted in a confessional that she used to think Tinsley was ‘crazy for wanting to be the fairytale, not the legend, and now I feel like I would love to have just 10 percent of Tinsley’s optimism and belief in love.’

Sonja Morgan, 56, showed up too, saying she’d put her doubts about Tinsley’s relationship away and only wanted the best for her, adding, ‘Get ready, Chi-Town, because you’ve got the Tins on her way.’

On moving day, Tinsley got into a car with her dogs and reflected on how she’d changed since returning to New York.

‘It’s taken me a little bit of time, but I finally feel like myself again,’ she noted. ‘I feel confident again. I don’t think any of it would have happened without all the little bumps along the way.’

Tinsley and Scott had met on the show in 2017, when they were introduced at a club by Tinsley’s former RHONY castmate Carole Radziwill, 56, and almost immediately made out.

Her castmate Dorinda Medley, 55, had long given her grief about the secrecy with which she conducted occasional meet-ups with Scott, even threatening to out their relationship last week.

In response, Tinsley did it herself, and found her girlfriends encouraging her to go after him.

She called Leah from Scott’s palatial apartment in Chicago, and noted that while her pals’ support meant the world, it wasn’t until Scott said to come that she was ‘all in.’

‘This sounds so cheesy, but it felt like home,’ she reflected. ‘It felt real. It was good.’

When Tinsley first returned from that trip, Dorinda invited the cast to go together to a haunted house called Blood Manor, where they were scared to death by people in creepy costumes.

As each one of the women arrived at the place, people jumped out at them, making them drop their purses, cry, or scream.

Luann de Lesseps, 55, showed up dressed as a cougar, enjoying her own tongue-in-cheek joke about being an older woman who liked to date younger men.

Inside, two women dressed as blood-soaked little girls cried, ‘We’ve been waiting for you!’

‘Wait, are these cackling twins Sonja and Ramona?’ Tinsley asked, as a flashback of the two RHONY stars laughing in matching caps was shown.

‘I gotta get outta here!’ yelled Ramona, not a fan of the scene. ‘I gotta get out of here!’

A creepy man batted Tinsley’s long blonde locks, and she screamed, ‘Don’t f*** with my hair!’

At a tequila restaurant afterward, Tinsley’s castmates discussed the fact that she’d recently posted a photo from her reunion with Scott on Instagram before telling them about it.

Ramona Singer, 64 , called the posting ‘dumb, dumb, dumb,’ as Sonja said they all wanted to know first.

Dorinda joked that the relationship would be over in ‘five minutes,’ and got nasty about it.

‘Maybe we should make a toast to Tinsley and Scott,’ Leah said, vowing not to drink more than one tequila that evening so she didn’t ‘scare’ anybody.

‘Isn’t it up to her to make a toast?’ Luann asked Leah, referring to Tinsley.

‘Alright, hold on, let’s toast to me and Scott back together, whoo!’ Tinsley yelled.

In a video shot two hours before, Tinsley admitted to Leah that she didn’t have an engagement ring yet, but added, ‘I just know it. I will be moving to Chicago. I’m not sure exactly when, but I know, and I know that we’re gonna be together, and I know that we’re making this work.’

Dorinda couldn’t resist the opportunity to take a jab at Tinsley, saying, ‘Good you’re moving to Chicago! That’s great! So you can check out of your hotel finally!’

Dorinda, Luann, Sonja and Ramona either ignored Tinsley or made fun of the relationship in turn, and friend of the cast Elyse Slayne said they had all been very hard on their pal.

Tinsley started mocking Dorinda’s voice and bitterly thanked her for being so ‘happy’ for her.

‘I’ve got a turkey baster,’ Dorinda retaliated. ‘Maybe you could actually try to have a baby.’

Dorinda high-fived a reluctant Luann, who said privately that Tinsley was already getting too much ‘s***’ about her relationship with Scott and ‘at this point, it’s overkill.’

‘You’re just a mean person,’ Tinsley informed Dorinda, as Leah told the cameras, ‘This is actually declassé behavior. Just give Tinsley this one little moment… that she’s been waiting for, fighting for. Just give it to her. But no, they can’t.’

Tinsley grew angry, mockingly saying to Luann, ‘This was pretty much probably the best night I’ve ever had in my life.’

Ramona later took Sonja and Dorinda with her to visit event planner Larry Scott at his Bethpage, Long Island studio, so they could help her plan a huge party for 60 of her girlfriends.

She called it her ‘coming out’ party, referring to the fact that she was ‘coming out’ as a single woman, and she wanted the theme to be ‘sophisticated jungle or tropical.’

Ramona rejected Dorinda’s idea that she share her party with Sonja, saying, ‘This is me giving back to all my girlfriends that I’ve had for 30 years. This is costing me a lot of money, and I don’t care that I don’t have a guy in my life to pay for it. I’m not married. I’m making a statement.’

Sonja and Dorinda laughed about the fact that Ramona kept mentioning her 60 girlfriends, but Ramona thought they were just jealous that she had more friends than they did.

Larry suggested Ramona have her guests circulate around her, which had Dorinda cracking, ‘It’s always the Ramona show. For godssakes, I barely celebrate Jesus Christ himself that much.’

She joked that she’d been ‘kidnapped’ to this warehouse where they were ‘being ignored’ by Ramona and ‘overdosing on sugar,’ with Larry making them pose for his social media pages.

Elsewhere on the episode, Luann and Sonja met to cast comedians for Luann’s new cabaret show, Marry F Kill.

Sonja also met with representatives from the department store Century 21, and was thrilled to hear that they wanted to give her Sonja by Sonja Morgan collection a spot at their two NYC stores, then hopefully roll it out to all locations.

Ramona and Luann scheduled a meet-up with Tinsley at a bar to tell her they were genuinely happy for her and Scott, though Ramona’s date showed up there, too, by accident.

‘Look, a lot’s happened really fast,’ Tinsley said, revealing that she was moving to Chicago ASAP. ‘And obviously I have loved Scott for a long time, and I’ve been down this road before.’

Tinsley was excited because Scott was giving her a room at his house in which he would ‘build out a closet,’ and her own ‘glam room,’ where she could have her hair washed and more.

‘I’d rather have that than an engagement ring,’ Ramona marveled, as she and Luann hugged Tinsley.

As Tinsley and Dale packed for the move, Tinsley’s two dogs scampered around in shiny tutus.

Her mother cried as she came across Tinsley’s childhood cup, saying, ‘It’s just sad to me, because you’ve always been on the East Coast, and now you’re going somewhere else.’

‘But Mommy, it’s happy,’ Tinsley said. ‘And I love Chicago, and I love Scott, and I’m excited.’

When Sonja showed up, Dale thanked her for housing Tinsley when she returned to NYC.

‘All I wanted for Tinsley was to be safe, and to get her own dog—she got two—and to develop her brand again, and she’s back in fashion shows, and she’s doing her charities,’ Sonja emphasized. ‘Throw a man into the mix, and she’s really happy.’

‘What’s important is you and Strawberry, Shortcake, and Scott,’ Sonja told Tinsley, referring to her dogs. ‘And mommy,’ said Dale. ‘And the embryos!’ said Leah, who’d joined them.

‘What is the expiration date on these eggs?’ Sonja asked Tinsley, who groaned, ‘Oh my God.’

As Tinsley’s car pulled away to the airport on moving day, she reflected on how far she’d come.
