Ray Meagher’s Home and Away co-stars pay tribute to him on his 76th birthday

He’s been a fixture on Home and Away for 32 years, and on Saturday, many of Ray Meagher’s co-stars paid tribute to him on his 76th birthday.

Sharing a series of photos of the beloved actor on her Instagram page, Georgie Parker wrote: ‘Happy birthday Ray. We all love you.’ 

The 55-year-old actress’ post attracted comments from their former co-stars, including Luke Mitchell and Esther Anderson. 

‘HBD Ray!! You bloody legend!!’ commented Luke, 35, while Esther, 41, added, ‘Happy Birthday Ray’.

Meanwhile, Kate Ritchie also gave her former co-star a sweet shoutout, sharing a framed photo of the two of them at the 2008 Logies.

‘This bloke and I are now gathering as much dust as my photo frame. Happy Birthday Mr Meagher! Well done on another run on the board…’ she captioned the photo. 

The 41-year-old former Home and Away actress added the hashtags: ‘#oldfriends #whenisayoldimeandear #dearoldfriends’. 

Penny McNamee also gave Ray a mention on her Instagram, sharing a black and white photo of the two of them together.  

‘Happiest of Birthdays to this diamond in the rough. He is as excellent and hilarious as you’d imagine,’ the 37-year-old wrote.

She added: ‘We are all so lucky to have him.’

Home and Away’s official Instagram also paid tribute to the man also known as his TV alter ego Alf Stewart.

‘We’re wishing the great Ray Meagher the happiest of birthdays today!’ they captioned a photo of him.

Several of Ray’s former co-stars also commented on the post.  

‘Happy birthday! Ray! What a pleasure it has been to work with you and have a good ol’ chat over the years. You’re a wonderful man and I’m honoured to call you my friend. All the best legend…’ commented Luke Jacobz.

Added Nic Westaway: ‘Happy Birthday, Ray! You’re an absolute champion! Hope you’re well and staying in good spirits during this crazy year. All the best.’
