He’s best known for his starring role as Henry Hill in Martin Scorsese’s legendary gangster biopic Goodfellas.

But 30-years after his career defining role as the fast living, fast talking mobster, it was a notably sedate Ray Liotta who ventured out for some essential shopping on Thursday.

The celebrated actor, 65, was accompanied by girlfriend Silvia Lombardo while pushing a trolley laden with supplies away from a local store in the Pacific Palisades area of Los Angeles.

Taking every necessary precaution, Liotta covered his face with a protective mask while making his way back to his car.

Joining the actor, Silvia looked sporty in gym leggings and trainers as she helped guide her own trolley through the grocery store doors.

Liotta was previously married to Michelle Grace for seven years until 2004 but they are understood to have remained great friends.

He married the actress in February 1997 after they met at a baseball game where her former husband Mark Grace was playing.

She worked on four films with Liotta – two as an actress and two as a producer – the most recent one, 2006’s Take The Lead, was two years after their divorce.

They share a daughter, 17-year-old model Karsen – who starred alongside her parents in the 2000 film A Rumor Of Angels when she was just one.

Rising to fame as a heartthrob in notorious gangster film, Liotta is widely recognised for his role as the American mobster in Goodfellas.

The Newark native starred in the prestigious movie alongside fellow Hollywood actors Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci.

Goodfellas follows the rise and fall of Henry Hill, while also following the lives of his close associates from the late 50s till the early 80s.
