‘Big love to my little mate’: Radio host Ben Fordham pays tribute to his cousin’s young son Luca as he recovers from a debilitating stroke
Ben Fordham has given his cousin’s young son a sweet shout-out on Instagram after the little boy suffered a devastating stroke back in November.
In a post on Instagram on Wednesday, the 44-year-old media personality shared a confronting photo of his ‘little mate’, Luca, recovering in hospital.
He also included a second photo of Luca with his mum, Tori, who happens to be Ben’s cousin, taken before his stroke.

‘Big love to my little mate Luca and darling cousin Tori. Luca suffered a stroke in late November and has been in hospital ever since,’ he began.
‘Tori is a single mum who spends her days stroking his hair, rubbing his legs and whispering motivational words into his ears.’
He explained that ‘Luca has been diagnosed with dystonia and has undergone surgery to treat his seizures’.

‘He’s communicating by blinking his eyes and sticking his tongue out. Luca’s mission is to walk and talk again and the staff at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead have been sensational,’ he added.
Ben urged his Instagram followers to reach out to Tori and Luca to help boost their spirits during what has been an undeniably difficult time.
‘Tori is a super mum and Luca is a little legend. Feel free to show @toriandluca some love,’ he wrote.

And his followers were quick to comment with messages of support for Tori and Luca, with many ‘sending love and prayers’.
‘If I can help out by donating to your cousin and Luca be sure to let me know Benny… Being a single Mum and supporting such a little champion must be hard financially and mentally,’ added another.
