Rachel Zegler puts on her red carpet best for what would have been West Side Story premiere night

Rachel Zegler is set to take on Hollywood before she’s even old enough to drink.

The New Jersey-born actress landed the coveted leading role of María in Steven Spielberg’s adaptation of West Side Story.

She felt pretty Friday in a stunning yellow prom dress, as she put on her red carpet best at home for what would have been the premiere night of the highly-anticipated movie musical.

The 19-year-old served face on her Instagram Story, as she teased the spaghetti-strap dress from the chest up, writing: ‘Hiya.’

She flashed some leg with the number’s thigh-high slit, as she posed against a wall, writing: ‘I was supposed to be at a premiere lol.’

It comes after the film was postponed in September from its December 18, 2020 premiere to December 10, 2021, which coincides with the 60th anniversary of the original 1961 film’s premiere. 

‘2020 took my premiere so i dressed up anyway,’ she wrote on Twitter, adding: ‘west side story took my prom and 2020 took west side story so i am wearing my prom dress tonight. pour one out for my girl maría.’

The brunette beauty stars alongside Ansel Elgort, Maddie Ziegler, Corey Stoll and Rita Moreno, who won an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for her portrayal of Anita in the original movie.

Based on the 1957 Broadway musical of the same name by Arthur Laurents, Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim, it tells the forbidden love story of Tony and María, two teens affiliate with rival New York City street gangs, the white Jets and Puerto Rican Sharks.
