Channel 4 announced on Thursday filming for Countdown would continue- but without a studio audience. 

And host Rachel Riley took to Twitter on Friday to share a sweet video of her daughter Maven competing against Bunny in a bid to ‘convince’ bosses she could work from home. 

The maths whizz, 34, said: ‘It’s Maven versus Bunny in the first Countdown numbers game. Mav what would you like?

‘Two from the top fantastic? You have 100, 50 and four little ones… 7,8, 7 and 1 and your target… 391. 

‘Your 30 seconds start now’, Rachel said before pressing a baby toy which played music.   

Rachel captioned the video: ‘How to convince the @C4Countdown @Channel4 bosses it’d be fine to work from home.’

On Thursday, Channel 4 announced Countdown will continue filming during the coronavirus crisis, but without a studio audience.

According to a report from The Sun the popular teatime show has plans to continue shooting episodes but will take precautions by not having a studio audience, for the first time in its 38 year history.

The show, presented by Nick Hewer and Rachel, follows the likes of ITV daytime show Loose Women which started filming without an audience this week.

 A source told the publication: ‘Countdown bosses said they couldn’t run the risk of having an audience so for the first time, filming will go ahead in an empty studio.

‘They believe it is still safe to continue filming the pool of contestants they are working with but it’s likely their schedule will slow in the coming months.’  

A representative for Channel 4 told MailOnline: ‘Acting on PHE advice Countdown was filmed without an audience earlier this week’.

Channel 4 have announced that they planning extensions to their news coverage and extra programmes to inform viewers amid the coronavirus pandemic.
